Featured Spirit-Roknar Rye

Our featured spirit this month is Roknar Minnesota Rye whiskey from Far North Spirits. Produced using Estate Grown AC Hazlet Rye and Minnesota 13 heirloom corn that was planted and harvested by head distiller Michael Swanson, this fantastic rye is true field to glass. The nose is delicate with hints of peppercorns , caramel, and toffee. On the palate, this comes off as a bit young (It only spends about a year in new 10 gallon oak barrels) but balanced with caramel and toasted marshmallows to start and finishes with an peppery spice. This makes an excellent Manhattan or Rye Old Fashioned.
