How do I value my coin collection?

This is a question that many people who have inherited a coin collection have.  Before selling your coins, it is important to understand the real value of what you have.  There are several factors in derterming a value.  The type of coin, the year, the mint mark(which can be difficult to find) as well as the condition are all important.  Looking on ebay is not the way to go about assessing a value.  I think its important to work with a company that is well respected in the community and sit with that person to understand what what you have.  Each coin should be looked at and evaluated.  Hope this helps...
