"Cash for Gold store" vs. Coin Shop

So what is the difference between one of the many "cash for gold stores" and my local coin shop? There is a big difference...First of all, a cash for gold store is loooking for any type of gold or silver with the primary intention of melting what they buy, including the coins.  We do not agree with melting collectable coins.  It is our opinion that a person is a caretaker for the coins they have for a period of time.  The coins then go on to the next person for them to enjoy for a period of time.  We do pruchase other types of gold and silver but we are experts in valuing your coin collection.  Cash for gold and pawn shops are generally not experts in valuing and grading coins.  Hope this helps...
