Selling your jewelry can be very emotional....

Think about it.  What do give a significant other on a special occasion?  At least some percentage of the time a person is compelled to give a piece of jewelry.  A ring, necklace, watch, bracelet or pendant that signifies a special moment in time.  Perhaps it was a birthday, or and anniversary that warranted the giving of that gold, silver or platinum piece to wear and treasure.  But times change.  At some point that jewelry is not going to be tresured or valued as it once was.  Relationships change, people die, "things" get passed on, and the intrinsic value from one to another is very different.  "One man's treasure, is another man's stuff in a box"  I know that's not quite how the saying goes, but I think you get my point.  What happens if an older man's wife dies, and he has no daughters or grandaughters to give the jewels to?  The jewelry may ultimately be sold, but it may be very difficult to do this emtionally.  I can't imagine the thought process of remembering all of the ocasions wrapped up in the gold, silver and diamonds.  What is valuable is the memories and the legacy, not the metal and stones. Most people just want a fair price for the items.
